Whether you are a legal administrator, support manager, managing partner or solo practitioner, you will find that ALA's family of publications offers unique articles, insights and information to meet your specialized needs.

Legal Management: Legal Management, ALA's bimonthly journal, features scholarly and "how-to" articles on issues of vital importance to law firm managers, legal administrators and managing partners. The journal frequently includes articles on developments in technology for law firms, client service trends and law firm marketing best practices. A special "7th issue" published in October centers on the theme, "Making Your Law Firm a Great Place to Work."

ALA News: ALA News, ALA's bimonthly member magazine, features vital information about the Association's programs, events, goals and objectives. Provided exclusively to more than 10,000 active ALA members, the magazine is published in alternating months opposite the Association's scholarly journal, Legal Management.

Just the Facts : This bimonthly newsletter helps chapter leaders and newsletter editors keep abreast of new developments within ALA.

ALA Currents: ALA Currents is a semi-monthly opt-in newsletter about hot management trends and innovations provided exclusively to ALA members. To receive this newsletter direct to your e-mailbox twice per month, you must subscribe online.

ALA Membership Resource Directory : The ALA Membership Resource Directory is a printed directory of ALA members and other legal resources, released annually in the spring. This major benefit of membership will facilitate networking with more than 10,000 ALA members worldwide. Also included in the ALA Membership Resource Directory are vital organizational documents such as ALA's Mission Statement and Goals and the Code of Professional Ethics.

Professional Legal Management Week Magazine: In conjunction with Professional Legal Management WeekSM, ALA launched a new magazine in 2007 centered on ideas and initiatives related to PLMW. This standalone thematic publication is co-branded with all PLMW co-sponsoring organizations and containing content from/related to those organizations. Its focus is on professional legal management and on all people on management teams who contribute to their organizations’ successes – including managing partners, principal administrators, chief operating officers and management specialists in areas such as marketing, human resources, information systems and technology, legal recruiting, library administration and paralegal management.

Expo Guide: In an effort to provide ALA members with exposure to Conference exhibitors, the Association launched a new publication in 2007 called the Expo Guide. This essential resource includes a comprehensive exhibitor directory (by company name and booth number), exhibit hall schedule and floor plan, vendor-hosted workshop schedule, sponsor listings, and much more. The 2008 Expo Guide will be provided onsite at the event in Seattle, Washington, and distributed to ALA members who are not attending the event but can still use it as a reference tool.

Compensation and Benefits Survey: Are you up-to-date on the latest compensation trends? ALA is committed to providing you with the most relevant statistical information concerning compensation and benefits facing law firms. ALA's annual Compensation and Benefits Survey provides salary and benefits information on more than 20 administrative positions. Survey participants are eligible to purchase the survey at a 50 percent discount.
