Charitable Foundation
A nonprofit charitable organization, the Foundation of the Association of Legal Administrators (FALA) is an education and research affiliate of ALA dedicated to supporting activities that advance legal management and service to the legal profession and community. FALA is dedicated to promoting education and credibility for legal administrators and to sponsoring research and program development in law office management. The Foundation's objectives include:
- Sponsoring and publishing research projects that explore key issues relevant to legal management;
- Providing aid, assistance and advice to law schools to develop and implement courses and programs of study related to legal administration;
- Presenting lectures, seminars, discussions and similar endeavors in law office management and administration and related disciplines; and
- Demonstrating the value of professional law office management to the legal community.
A major FALA emphasis is its Chapter Challenge Program, which provides grants and seed money to ALA chapters to help them develop professional, educational and community service projects. A key component of the Chapter Challenge Program is its encouragement of projects that can form models for similar programs by other chapters, without the necessity of those chapters "reinventing the wheel."
FALA's efforts benefit all ALA members and legal administrators. If you, your chapter or organization has a research project that may benefit the profession, contact FALA at 75 Tri-State International, Suite 222, Lincolnshire, IL 60069-4435 for details on submitting a proposal.
